Bamboo House

The transformation of WG's house in the NW of Kyoto, close to the Golden Pavilion, from retro Japan to retro fusion chic! Artisans, inspired ideas and super hard working (handsome) builders all helped me along the way!

Minamiguchi and Nakagawa, the (good-looking) water boys, and Kimura. Today the ground floor was torn up with replacing pipes, the gas lady Taniguchi replaced the fixtures and carpenters Kimura and Katsuichi made a beautiful verandah upstairs. I continued to struggle with covering sliding doors with elegant porridge- coloured fabric!
