The transformation of WG's house in the NW of Kyoto, close to the Golden Pavilion, from retro Japan to retro fusion chic! Artisans, inspired ideas and super hard working (handsome) builders all helped me along the way!

And the very first thing to go up is…. this lovely lantern Kimura san (Katsuichi) has made especially for bamboo house! Hooray. He had his friend Megumi Abe make the slumped glass, and he himself welded the ironwork. I love the bamboo motif.
