The transformation of WG's house in the NW of Kyoto, close to the Golden Pavilion, from retro Japan to retro fusion chic! Artisans, inspired ideas and super hard working (handsome) builders all helped me along the way!

We had a big welcome party for the Aomori builders Katsuichi and Katsuyoshi, on Sunday night with a big hot pot nabe at Katagiri’s place. I think we ate for about 5 hours straight! They need the energy because Kyoto is really cold right now and they are sleeping above the contruction work. They say as they are from the far north of Japan they are used to it!
